Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - idahopanfish - 03-07-2008 Hoping to float part of that in April. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I have only used my toon in still water and when I fished the one and only time for steelhead, I was useing corkies and bouncing the bottom. Did catch a nice native, but now I would like to do it with my fly rod.[ ![]() [signature] Re: [idahopanfish] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - flygoddess - 03-07-2008 Life Jacket or floatation devise ON at all times.[cool] [signature] Re: [flygoddess] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - idahopanfish - 03-07-2008 Yes Thank you, that is a given!![ ![]() [signature] Re: [idahopanfish] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - lunkerhunter2 - 03-09-2008 I tied some flies when i went 4 years ago that worked good and i tied alot that didn't do any good. It was very helpful in planing our trip. It also looks like the run will be later this year. Hope it helps.[cool] [url "http://www.idahosteelheadrun.com/"]http://www.idahosteelheadrun.com/[/url] [signature] Re: [lunkerhunter2] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - idahopanfish - 03-09-2008 We are planning to go in April not sure when but this site will help thanks, and thanks for any suggestion or paterns [signature] Re: [lunkerhunter2] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - Dryrod - 03-09-2008 [center][cool][font "Pristina"][green][size 4]Interesting site lunkerhunter2. Surprised that quite a few of the fish were kept.[/size][/green][/font][/center] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Anyone Fish the Salmon by Chalis - lunkerhunter2 - 03-09-2008 It is basically a put and take fishery. Only the fin clipped hatchery fish may be kept. The fish that make it to the trap are all killed after spawing because i think they will just die anyway. They give them out to the public for free. Pretty cool. [signature] |
