[ ![]() and also to let you guys drool over my new place of residence starting in March. On the 5th of March I will be departing South Dakota and making a long drive north to Elmendorf Air Force base Alaska which is just outside of Anchorage. I'll send pics of my first fishing excursion [ ![]() on a side note, let me say I am amazed at how the board has grown. When Predator, BLM and myself started this thing we never imagined in our wildest dreams that it would get this big! A big hats off to all u guys for keeping it alive! Not sure I would be too excited about moving from extreme cold to extremely severe cold (or something like that). Good of you to drop in and slum a little.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]Good luck on the new venue. Anchorage is in the "banana belt" of Alaska. Lots of rain, but not as much severe cold...or wind...as other parts.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]How long do you think it will take you to become tired of catching big salmon, halibut, ling cod and rockfish?[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [Teroy] Hey all my BFT friends - GEEZER - 02-05-2008 Hey, Teroy, Was wondering what happened to you. Shoot me a PM some time & let me know what you think of the fishing in SD. Hope you like AK. I worked up there back in 1958 & 9 on a wildcat oil well out in the bush about 150 mi southwest of anchorage at a camp called Iniskin. We worked 7 days a week, 12 hrs. a day most of the time but I did get out to sample a little bit of the fishing. Small salmon (8 - 10 lb.) & sea run dolly varden about 2 lb. up the wazoo in the summer.
