On my maiden voyage in my ODC 420 tube I swear the fish were doing just that. I could hear the splashes behind me as I was moving accross the lake. Then all of a sudden I heard something hit the tip of the tube and a splash. I don't know if the bug was on the tube or just dumb luck but a fish had jumped out of the water and hit the tube.
