Lake Buchanan, LBJ and Canyon Lake Guide Reports - JimF - 11-17-2007 Lake Buchanan: Water: clear; 66 degrees; 1017.96' Largemouth are good on stump flats in 2'-8' using 1/4 oz. Bleeding Shad Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigged weightless water- melon blue flake Whacky Sticks, white spinnerbaits and pitchin' pumpkin/chartreuse Curb's jigs. Stripers are good to 26" over 25' to 40' casting Spoiler Shads (plastic swim baits), Rat-L-Traps and drifting or free-lining live bait. Curb's buzzbaits, watermelon JDC Skip N Pops and wacky rigged green pumpkin Whacky Sticks. White Bass fair vertically jigging Pirk Minnows under birds. Along bluffs inside of secondary points on watermelon-red Whacky Sticks on jigheads or Texas rigged grape Scoundrel worms on shaky head jigs. Smallmouth are good under cloud cover early along ledges and over rockpiles in 10- 20 feet using Smokin' Green" Devil's Tongues on drop shots, smoke JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, and 3/16 oz. pumpkin Curb's jigs with matching drop shot worms.
