Report from Rivers End Tackle - gdn443 - 11-17-2007 UPDATED BY PAT ON FRIDAY, November 16th, 2007 STRIPED BASS- Still ain't over ! The larger ones are getting harder to find but theres still plenty of little ones, they even seem to be getting smaller. Theres a lot of 15" to 20" schoolies around. The mouths of the Connecticut and Thames Rivers have lots of little guys, look around the mouths of North and South Coves. Surface lures will work sometimes, bucktails and plastic tails work most of the time. Some schools have been on the surface near the Rivers and Hatchetts. The Causeway is one of the best bets from shore. They were still getting some bigger bass earlier in the week at Long Sand Shoal by drifting eels. BLUEFISH- Numbers are on a downer, those remaining are big. The mouths of the Connecticut and Niantic Rivers are best with bait outfishing lures. A few still on Long Sand Shoal. BLACKFISH- No letup. Still getting some good reports from shallower spots, but the best consistency is coming from both inner and outer Southwest Reef. BONITO, FALSE ALBACORE - We haven't heard of any catches this week, but a large school was spotted off the Thames River. BONEFISH- No they're not in the River but we're expecting them south this winter. We have a group trip to Los Roques, Venezuela in February. For more detail call Pat 860-388-2283. HOURS- Monday to Friday 7am-6pm----- Saturday 6am-5pm------Sunday 6am -4pm We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day -- A happy and safe holiday to all.
