R2-D2 - Dryrod - 11-09-2007 [center] [font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3][cool]This Cobra vises looks like something from out of the future. Does anyone have one?[/size][/green][/font] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] R2-D2 - Scruffy_Fly - 11-09-2007 Isn't that the one that Fly Goddess has fallen in love with? Think that she has more vises than I have rods.[ ![]() [signature] Re: [Scruffy_Fly] R2-D2 - macfly55 - 11-09-2007 ..her newest vise is more of a horseshoe shaped one.. I have no idea who makes it but I do know she swears by it.. [ ![]() MacFly [cool] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] R2-D2 - flygoddess - 11-10-2007 Come on now... I only have 4 vises. One is broken so I only use it to hold flies while the glue dries. It was my first el-cheapo get you started vise. Then I have the tiny traveler vise that isn't really anygood for tying because it is too little and too light so I use it to display my flies in pictures. Then I have the Renzetti Traveler that I have had for many years and I still use it from time to time. But my newest is the Vosseler that allowes me to tie two flies at the same time if I want. I found that by wiping the suction cup with a damp rag, it will hold for days.[/size][/black] [black][size 3]I will also say that the base is big enough that I have been able to tie several different flies without even using the suction cup.[/size][/black] [black][size 3]I carry a piece of plexi-glass about 14"x12" for a standard base that works great, plus a place to put my hooks so I can see them.[/size][/black] [black][size 3]Mine has been personalized and I have the standard and the midge jaws.[/size][/black] [inline "Vosseler Vise 4 450.jpg"] [black][size 3]The really nice thing about this vise is it is so adjustable. You can tilt, twist and turn to any comfortable position. I even made a simple bobbin holder for using it as a rotary out of a coat hanger. I hear they have all sorts of accessories in the works for these vises including a small drying motor for one side while you tie on the other. I take my fly tying way serious LOL, but I am a professional[ ![]() [signature] Re: [flygoddess] R2-D2 - macfly55 - 11-11-2007 ... ya gotta love the goddess.. she is the best at what she does.. and she does it all..
