?Hawaii In June? - matthewlsteward - 04-08-2003 I'm planning a trip to Hawaii in june from the 15th - 22nd and I plan on doing ALOT of fishing. Freshwater and saltwater. Problem is I have no Idea of where to start looking or what to expect. I have a limited budget so I could probably only afford one day with a professional guide that week so that leaves me on my own for 6 days. I might even take my float tube with me if I can find a place to use it. My questions are: 1. does anyone know of a good affordable guide? 2. are there any good freshwater places to fish? 3. what kind of shorefishing can I expect? I am planning on going to Oahu and spending a couple days on Kauai because I hear that is the place to find peacock bass. I would really appreciate any kind of help. Thanks, Matt [signature] Re: [matthewlsteward] ?Hawaii In June? - whipper - 01-07-2005 Well i go to Oahu every summer to fish and a place that i have found to produce fish is at a place called makai pier it is next to sea life park and lil' Makapu'u you can catch a variety of fish there from Palani to Papio(jacks).
