Welcome and Bienvenidos.

What kind of fish are you fishing for? That would be a better indicator of line type. Otherwise that lure would be OK on 10 to 15lb test.

Are you fishing for SandBass, Roosters or Yellowtail???[cool]

Sand Bass are very common down there right now as well as Roosterfish. Sand Bass require bait such as Squid, Anchovy or Sardine and the Rooster fish will hit just about anything with some shine to it.

There is a good chance that there are also some Barracuda around as well as some Wahoo. They will also hit on the lures that you mentioned in another post.[cool]

wow! are you serious? I had no idea that kind of fish are living there. I was reading an article, making some research about the species living there (rosarito baja california norte) and I red that they catch a small dorado, about 12 inches long, its the second time they catch a fish like that, some fisherman whit a panga (small fishing boat, for 2 persons) . I can hardly wait to go out fishing, even if I dont catch anything its a great experience to be in front of the ocean admireing God´s creation. I have not fish for more then 20 years. lol. but it´s great. see you around.

The Dorado are around down there too but not all the time. The water temp needs to be just above 60 degrees and they are more likely to be in the Kelp patties.

64 degrees will bring some more species in too. You will be more likely to find Yellowtail, Calico Bass and a few Sheepshead too.[cool]
