Re: [Dryrod] Patagonia - flygoddess - 06-13-2007

I am so ready. Like I said before, that would be my choice over Alaska. Plus the BEARS aren't quite the same issue.[Wink]

hehehe you have a point.. but if you ever watch north to alaska... man the salmon hit flies hard (and lures and bait).. maybe a good sized halibut instead...

[cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]Hey there Mac you are right about the Peacock Bass being available in Patagonia - however, the Amazon is where you want to go if you have your sights on the Peacock Bass. I think that I am more suited for Patagonia as I prefer wading. Not a very good idea for the Amazon with all those flesh eating pirrhanas hanging around. I would rather be the hunter than the hunted. [Tongue] LOL[/size][/green][/font]

Just remember! In the Amazon, the Piharahs will get you before the Pirahnas. They have longer teeth.[shocked]

[blush][font "Poor Richard"][size 3][green]That is one of the problems of relying on a spell check system. I don't know what the hell a pirrhanan is but if it has long sharp teeth like a piranha I don't want to be in the water at same time. LOL[/green][/size][/font]

My bad. It is Payara. Here are a couple of pictures. With this info, you can see why you don't go tubing in those waters.

As you can see, Sharp objects and Tubes don't mix.[shocked]

Re: [tubeN2] Patagonia - Dryrod - 06-15-2007

[cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]Whoa - what big teeth you have Grandma! Those pearly's surely would make a nice looking necklaces. TubeN2 time to get your tube armored plated.[/size][/green][/font]

Re: [Dryrod] Patagonia - tubeN2 - 06-15-2007

The armor plating on the tube is not the problem. The problem is the extra weight of the armored waders. I think I might have to do this set up on an H6 or something like that.[cool]

Re: [tubeN2] Patagonia - Dryrod - 06-15-2007

[cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]Oh come now TubeN2 I didn't mean that stuff that tanks are plated with - just some plain old Kevlar might do the trick.[Wink][/size][/green][/font]

Re: [Dryrod] Patagonia - tubeN2 - 06-16-2007

Re: [tubeN2] Patagonia - macfly55 - 06-16-2007

...when I was growing up in St Louis my brother in laws family made pontoon boats from heavy aluminum pontoons... I wonder if someone could incorporate the same idea here...instead of aromoring the bladders of your tube.. make a scaled down version of a pontoon boat with aluminum pontoons... just a thought....heheh

Re: [macfly55] Patagonia - tubeN2 - 06-16-2007

I could probably try a couple of Oxygen tanks or I could go with some of he Jumbo Argon Gas tanks. That should get me enough clearance.[cool]
