Who would believe my catch? - Dryrod - 05-28-2007 [font "Poor Richard"][#008000][size 3][cool]Since I am planning to fish the west fork of the San Gabriel River this week [for small trout] decided to limber up my 3wt rod. Took my rod out to the back yard grass and proceeded to cast into a good breeze. I cast to what I thought was a small leaf. Well much to my surprise the leaf attacked the bit of yellow yarn at the end of my tippet. I cast to it again and slowly striped the line. It attacked it again. The aggressive leaf turned out to be a lizard. Now if I caught that little dude what category would it fall under?[ ![]() [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - tubeN2 - 05-28-2007 Stimulator, Imitator, Intimidator??? If it has scales and swims it is a fish. If it has scales and slithers or crawls, it is not.[cool] [signature] Re: [tubeN2] Who would believe my catch? - Dryrod - 05-28-2007 [ ![]() ![]() [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - poky-mon - 05-28-2007 [black][size 6]Geico?![cool][/size][/black] [signature] Re: [poky-mon] Who would believe my catch? - Dryrod - 05-28-2007 [center][cool][font "Poor Richard"][green][size 3]I mean I could have made him/her a star. It has been done before.[ ![]() [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - tubeN2 - 05-28-2007 A valid catch is a valid catch. I was able to catch a few bats this weekend but they were camera shy. They had quite a fancy for my Coachmans and Wolfs.[shocked] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - lunkerhunter2 - 05-28-2007 Who knows, you may start a new fad amongst the ff world. FF for lizards! How would you explain that to your wife? ""Yes dear, i am going to a lizard tournament"[laugh] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - macfly55 - 05-28-2007 [#000080]gggeeeeesssssshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I cant catch a fish and here you are catching the Geico lizard in your back yard while practicing.....[laugh] there is no justice in this world... Maybe that Gecko was trying to tell me something. Therefore I might call it the Caveman Hare! That is if I use rabbit hair. LOL[/size][/green][/font] [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - ShakeyFly - 05-29-2007 That can't qualify as a catch! If the toyota that I caught on a brigde while steeping casting from below doesn't count, then a lizard can't count. I call Shenanigans!! Caught a 14 foot Lund... I'm going to try all summer, and I'll catch a fish on the fly, even if I have to scoop it up in a net, and hook it onto the fly before throwing it back [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Dubie] Who would believe my catch? - macfly55 - 05-29-2007 [reply] The only thing I ever managed to catch with a fly rod so far was a 3 foot piece of willow tree....Shortly after, I switched to a spincast and a spoon. A Toyota is no different than a log. Well it might get you to your destination a little quicker. But we count only animated objects. You know like birds, possum, snakes etc & an occasional fish. You know when you get home & your better half asks how did you do? Would you rather say that you caught a Chevy or a possum? [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - Dubie - 05-29-2007 Well, I'd rather tell the story about how I caught a possom, but my better half would rather I brought home the chevy so we could sell it and pay a few bills. [signature] Re: [Dryrod] Who would believe my catch? - tubeN2 - 05-30-2007 I think you can just take a Mulligan and cast another one out.[cool] [signature] |
