LBJ, CANYON LAKE & CHOKE CANYON GUIDE REPORT - JimF - 05-04-2007 Lake LBJ: Water stained; 70 degrees; 824.80': Largemouth are good to 7 lbs in 5-12 feet along docks, rip rap of seawalls and breaklines of flats using Texas rigged watermelon-red Flukes, pumpkin JDC Skip-N-Pop/Yellow Magic topwaters, weightless, Whacky Sticks and medium running crankbaits. White bass are slow to fair trolling Shad Raps. Crappie are very good over brushpiles in 12' on minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs. Smallmouth are good in 5' to 15' along mainlake points and ledges using rootbeer JDC curl tail grubs, 6" smoke-red tubes on ball jigheads and Bleeding Shad Tiny Traps. Stripers are slow. to fair trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits and Shad Raps. White Bass are fair in 4'-8' upriver using Road Runners and slow in the main lake. Crappie are fair to good around submerged brushpiles along breaklines using Curb's crappie jigs and live minnows.
