Eating fish from Lake Michigan - Feydakin - 05-01-2007 So now that I have about 10 pounds of trout filets inthe freezer my wife jumps online and sees that "they" are recommending not eating more than 1/2 pound of fish (trout, salmon, etc) a month from the lakes because of the mercury in the fish.. If this is really the case then I'm sitting on 10 months of fish for the two of us and we haven't gone salmon fishing yet.. Any fish that area a lot have any thoughts on this?? I wouldnt eat fish everyday, but once a week should be fine. Ballacks I Say!!!!! Bury me and put "the human thermometer" on my tombstone. LOL, just kidding guys. [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Feydakin] Eating fish from Lake Michigan - straight6pwr - 05-01-2007 you should be fine making a meal or two out of it. ive had a number salmon dinners from michigan (the gig where a restaurant will cook up the fish you eat) and i'm fine. its more a warning if you plan on eating only the fish very consistantly over longer periods of time. [signature] Re: [Tarpon4me] Eating fish from Lake Michigan - bkidder - 05-01-2007 It will just put hair on your chest. So, if you're okay with that... eat away! The belly fat and skin (damn, there goes the best part of the fried trout) 2. The fins ( the second best part of a crispy fried trout) 3. The head ( can still be ground up and put into the garden) [cool] [signature] Re: [bkidder] Eating fish from Lake Michigan - Feydakin - 05-02-2007 I don't know about you - but I don't want hair on my wife's chest ![]() [signature] Re: [Feydakin] Eating fish from Lake Michigan - bkidder - 05-02-2007 I dont blame you!
