Swamp Cooler Part - waldocod - 04-25-2007 I'm looking for those black nozzles that go on the ends of the distribution tubes.I've been to the Riverdale Lowes and Home Depot and can only get them if I buy the whole spider assy.I only need the tips...mine are closed up solid with hardwater deposits.Any info will be appreciated. Thanks! It's a porduct available in any grocery store, and desolves mineral deposits. I have used it several times for various purposes, and it works better than any others that I have tried. [signature] Re: [Saberfish] Swamp Cooler Part - waldocod - 04-25-2007 I was thinking of that.I wonder if the plastic will hold up to that stuff. [signature] Re: [waldocod] Swamp Cooler Part - Saberfish - 04-25-2007 [black]Not a problem.[/black] It's not that caustic. I have used it on all types of plastic. [black]Also, You may have to repete the process several times. It only works for a short time.[/black] [signature] Re: [Saberfish] Swamp Cooler Part - waldocod - 04-25-2007 I'll try it. Thanks!! [signature] Re: [waldocod] Swamp Cooler Part - GEEZER - 05-06-2007 Something that'll work a lot quicker than lime away is Muriatic acid. You can get it at Lowes or Home Depot. I've bought it in quart bottles in the past & it's pretty cheap. Ya gotta be a little more careful with it though. It won't harm plactic at all but I'd recommend wearing glasses & rubber gloves while using it. Just pour about 1" in a plastic coffee can & lower (DON'T DROP) the tips into the acid. It'll foam, fizz & stink to high heaven. Don't breathe the fumes, they will take your breath away. You might want to stir them around a little while they are soaking. After the fizzing stops, you can take the tips out & wash them with clean water and scratch off any remaining deposits. You can safely dispose of the remaining acid by simply washing it down the drain with plenty of water. [signature] |
