Southwest Miramichi River Report - 04-20-07 - CaseyBentley - 04-19-2007 [size 3][font "Times New Roman"]Fishing season opened up this last Sunday, but the river was still frozen in places so it didn't make for the best fishing but a few anglers took their rods to the river to try their luck. It has been a steady mix of rain and snow so far all this week with fairly cold temperatures, and while there is still ice in the river, it has been slowly but surely opening up. [] As for your questions, nobody really ice fishes in this area, we just all wait for the ice to melt away! There aren't any walleyes either, just Atlantic salmon & brook trout. [signature]
