Electric troll and sonar for pontoon boat - finster - 03-24-2007

I have a nice outcast pontoon boat, and am looking for tips on the best way to outfit my boat with an electric trolling motor and a $200 (ball park) sonar. I was planning on a trojan or other similar good quality 12v power source. Recomendations on a good sonar unit and motor would be appreciated.

[black][size 3]Just remember DEEP CYCLE on the battery, and a Minn Kota 30 should be plenty.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I recommend turning the head of the motor 180 degrees (so it is facing the same direction as the prop) and mount it behind you, using your flippers to steer.[/size][/black]
[black][size 3]I would also think about a small rechargeable battery for your sonar for the waters that do not allow motors.[/size][/black]

While I do not have a Pontoon i have seen a few and do exactly what FG said. I have seen her and Mojo's toons and they way they did the motor you cant even tell. Supper stealthy, at least if it wernt bright yellow. JK [Wink]

[black][size 3]Just the top Majja. With Mojo's being [#ff0000]RED[/#ff0000] (Chilli Pepper) and Mine being [#ffff00]YELLOW[/#ffff00] (Banana) the bottoms are [#808080]Light Gray[/#808080], and the bottom of the platform is black undercoating.[Wink][/size][/black]
