Stop it Gregg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL [sly] I'm getting all excited too. It right here, fishing is back!!! I'm spending this weekend finishing up all my little projects, and i'm ready. You should have seen the nasty foot oil in my bass boat. It was solid black last time I changed it. I'm going to have to keep an eye on that guy. I'm going to run it a couple times and change it; and keep repeating this process until the foot oil starts running out a little cleaner. [signature] Re: [Tarpon4me] norwich harbor - gdn443 - 03-06-2007 I know it's hard for you southern boys to comprehend, but ice out is a big time for fish and us. I'm not sure which. [crazy] Looking like the 18th, I won't be able to hold back as long as the ice is off. Keep an eye out Tom. [ ![]() [signature] Re: [Tarpon4me] norwich harbor - tomc - 03-07-2007 you didnt see any sparkles in the oil?my motor is a 79 and it gets used alot in the spring and fall.and the oil looks like i just put it in.you must have some wear in the worm gears [signature] Re: [tomc] norwich harbor - Tarpon4me - 03-07-2007 Na, no shavings. There's a little metalic flake on the plug, but nothing out of the ordinary. The oil itself is just dirty. I wonder how hard of a job it would be to tear down the foot and see what's up? [signature] Re: [Tarpon4me] norwich harbor - gdn443 - 03-08-2007 I've got to agree with Tom on this Bryan, something doesn't sound right. Glad to see you have another boat to run. Must be nice. LOL [signature] Re: [gdn443] norwich harbor - Tarpon4me - 03-08-2007 [ ![]() I'm going to give it some time and see how the oil looks after a few more quick changes. I'll probably change it after each run instead of after a few, you guys have got me parnoid now. LOL I'll let you know how it ends up. The motor is running flawlessly, so I have no reason to believe something is wrong. But, how the motor is running really doesn't dictate if there is a potential problem in the foot, so i'll have my fingers crossed. [signature] |
