Rabbit Hunting!!!! - Jethro - 02-28-2007
Went out to my favorite spot for the bunnies and I was not disappointed.
Took out a buddy I have been coyote hunting with and saw over 200+ rabbits.
We could only hit 13 though. I guess they knew when I was reloading because a least 10 ran out from my feet while I was reloading.
I guess they knew it was their only chance.
My buddy shot 2 and I got the rest.
Thinking about going out again in two weeks if anyone is interested.

Best bunny report I've heard all winter, everyone I talk to says rabbit numbers are down this year, at least cottontails. Were you seeing many cottontails or were they all jacks? WH2

All I saw were Jacks.
I imagine the hunting pressure is really high. I saw about 6 trucks hunting one area when we were driving out to my spot.
There also was a large burn in the are past Kelton that I am sure has effected the rabbit population.
