mud lake on a lighter note - tech29 - 01-17-2007
On a lighter note, I went to mud lake today. Caught about 30 perch in an hour, but what a difference between this year and last! I only caught one "good" perch about 11" long. The others were between 6 and 8 inches long. Didn't stay long though. I actually went out for rabbits and wanted to try out my new power auger!! It was fun!!

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but, um, though mudlake is rife with the bugs bunny like creatures mentioned in your post, I don't think you'll find any under the ice. I wouldn't take my auger out for rabbits again, but might hit the sagebrush land adjacent to the lake.[

Thanks for the update. There were a bunch of rabbits out there last winter. This cold snap should make it a good time to get out and find some jacks.

My wife looked at me kinda funny when i told her that I was going to try my ice auger out and go bunny hunting also. Maybe I should be a little more specific!
