Shooting range development & rehabilitation program - FishNews - 01-11-2007 Program Purpose: To develop shooting sports facilities for public use, by providing matching funds to local recreational shooting clubs open for public use. Both firearms and archery projects will be considered for funding. Eligible Projects: Shooting ranges throughout Minnesota open for public use are eligible to participate. Construction of meeting facilities is not an eligible project. A list of activities eligible for reimbursement, for both firearms and archery projects, is included in the application. Who May Apply: Local groups, both public and private in origin, provided they meet the conditions for public use. Priorities ![]() Level of Assistance: A total of $150,000 is available for use between July 1, 2005 and June 30, 2006; another $150,000 will be available after July 1, 2006. Applications not immediately funded will be offered funding after July 1, 2006. Maximum grant amount is $ 20,000. Average grant size has been $10,000-$12,000. Grants are awarded for a maximum of 50 percent of total project costs. Grants are awarded on a reimbursement basis. Recipients must incur and pay expenses before they can be reimbursed by DNR. General Information: The Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources provided grant funding, through its Environmental Trust Fund. Funds can be used through June 30, 20008.
