Report from Rivers End Tackle - gdn443 - 11-25-2006 UPDATED BY PAT ON FRIDAY, November 24th, 2006 STRIPED BASS- The fat lady might not be singing, but shes warming up offstage. School bass have been sporadic off Waterford and the mouth of the Thames. Don't be too hasty to end it all, theres still some good days left at Harkness. Yesterdays rains will probably put fishing off in both the mouths of the Connecticut and Thames Rivers. Earlier in the week there were some larger bass on Long Sand Shoal. The Rhode Island Beaches and Breachways are reporting some small schoolies with an occasional 10 or 15 pound fish. There haven't been any confirmed reports of gannets and herring running along the coast yet.. BLUEFISH- Gonzo except for some stragglers. BLACKFISH- Its slowed down a bit but we are still in the bottom half of one of the best fall runs since they instituted limits. The reefs and rockpiles around the mouth of the Thames have been some of the more consistent spots. Southwest Reef was good earlier this week as was Black Point. The mild weather for the next few days should put a nice finale on the season. BONEFISH- We have a few openings on one of our February, 2007 trips to Acklins Island. Call me if you'd like to find out more. HOURS- Monday -Friday 8am to 6pm Saturday 8am to 5pm Sunday 8am to 4pm [signature] Re: [gdn443] Report from Rivers End Tackle - tomc - 11-25-2006 i wanted to make it to the thames, for some schooly action and hit the shetucket river for some salmon this past week,BUT the deer didnt cooperate very well.so i spent all my time in the woods eneded up with one doe 107 lbs, still got one more week for rifle/shotgun before blackpowder, but i go back to work on monday,i guess i will have to bring the gun to work and keep it in the company truck, you never know when you see them while digging a celler hole [signature] Re: [tomc] Report from Rivers End Tackle - gdn443 - 11-26-2006 You are down on your quata. He also forgot to put the plug in on his new boat. Also filled the livewell up so he could keep his 19" bass for a while. When he went to put the fish back after noticeing his boat was only doing 45mph he saw the bilge pump working. After he trailered the boat he noticed the plug. And that Skeeter still floated after all that. Good boat.
