Fished Chestfield today for a short while. The surface temp was 74 degrees. Even after quickly landing and releasing, two of the fish I caught went belly up so I had to call it a day. I find it is difficult to get away with catch and release fishing with bait when the water gets warm like it was today. [unsure] Even when they get hooked in the corner of the mouth trout just don't do well being released in warm water.
Chestfield is still full of water but there was no water going over the spillway. Looks like the fish in Chestfield should carry over well this year. [
] I hope we get good snow pack this coming winter so the fish in there can continue to grow.[signature]
