Basic Bassin' - TubeDude - 06-02-2006 [cool][#0000ff]This is a [url "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UQQBW1vozo&search=Danny%20Thomson%20Bass%20Fishing%20Cool%20Awesome"]LINK[/url] for all the elitist bassers. See, you really don't need those high priced bass sleds and fancy gear to catch those stupid greenfish.[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Basic Bassin' - Fishhound - 06-02-2006 [black][size 3]I would have to agree TD. Having grown up in an area where Bass are a native fish, when we were kids, we made lots of "make do" tackle(just a piece of line on a stick with a hook - we seldom used a reel) and caught lots of big bass. [/size][/black] [black][size 3][/size][/black] [black][size 3]Aside from being a real tasty fish(especially small mouths), I never considered them very special. As a matter of fact, back when I was younger, if the option was available, for a variety of reasons, I would usually have chosen to go cat fishing or pan fishing instead. Even so, I would never have turned up the chance for some good Bass fillets.[/size][/black] [black][size 3][/size][/black] [black][size 3]If you have never eaten Bass, you really should try it. Just like trout, the larger fish are sometimes pretty rank tasting.[/#0000ff] [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#0000ff]"tastes like chicken"[/#0000ff] [signature] Re: [TubeDude] Basic Bassin' - Kent - 06-02-2006 Reminds me of the time a neighbor kid and I were going to fish for the goldfish in his house with a safety pin and thread. Fortunately, we didn't go through with our plans or his dad would have tanned our bottoms. [signature] Re: [kentofnsl] Basic Bassin' - lunkerhunter2 - 06-03-2006 Splake! Causey! Same scenario! Caught 21 fish before we left. All were released to "grow up". [signature] Re: [Fishhound] Basic Bassin' - guppyslayer - 06-03-2006 bass are great table fare. I only catch a few of them a year as i rarely target bass...just never saw what the big deal was. Skipjack herring jump outta the water and fight just as hard...LOL cyas rc Re: [lunkerhunter2] Basic Bassin' - Kent - 06-04-2006 Are you saying you caught 21 splake without using a rod and reel? [signature] Re: [kentofnsl] Basic Bassin' - lunkerhunter2 - 06-05-2006 Yeah Kent. It was fun watching all the people not catching much gawking at me while i threw a handful of line and salmon eggs out. We did catch a few descent bows that day too. [signature] |
