powell first timer, need tips - fencekid - 05-31-2006 well after talking about it for years, and seeing all the sweet posts lateley, i have decided that this is the year to hit lake powell. we'll be heading for wahweap marina on the 15th of june and will be there over the weekend. i would love to head down there with a good idea of where to go and what to use this time of year. no houseboat i'm afraid, but we will be bringing the bayliner. looking forward to catching a hella fish so if you powell regulars could help me out, i'd sure apprciate it. laters BFT RULES! Those guys on that site are all really good about sharing just like the guys are here. You will gain alot of insite from that site for Powell. There is alot of info that comes in for the Wahweap area where you are going. We didn't catch any real big ones, but in talking to guys at the fish cleaning stations, the big ones were being caught across from Wahweap. They were catching 6 to 10 pounders by the carmel colored rocks right across the bay. Check with the guys at the cleaning stations on the way in. It's a good place to get the advice you need, at the time you are fishing. [signature] |
