Buying a new rod? - gdn443 - 03-06-2006 Every new rod you buy should come with a balancing weight for the handle. This has made a big difference in hand fatique at the end of the day. A balanced rod and reel makes all the difference. Cabela's or Bass Pro carry these kits if you need to order them. Here are two different styles. I swear I am getting a touch of arthoritess from using poorly ballenced rods. would make a good article for the tips board, how to ballance your rod.
