Soldier creek ice conditions? - Elkoholic - 12-19-2005
Has anyone been over to the soldier creek marina or elsewhere on the lake? How's the fishin and the ice conditions? Can you drive to the marina this year?

I went there on sunday morning. Left home at 6:20 AM, when I got to the Heber, the weather turned pretty bad. I decided to move on even though I regretted I should drive my SUV. With my two-wheel drive Integra, I hit the road to Strawberry. It was very scary on the slush road, especially off I-40 to mud creek. The road was not plowed at all. You can imagine how I handle the up and down hills in my small car. I wouldn't recommend driving a small car to there.
Fishing was pretty good. I caught 4 cuts from 8:30 AM - 10 AM. They were between 17' and 21'. The spot I fished was 19' depth. I saw most fish were 2' or 4' above bottom from sonar.

There were about 13 groups on the ice by 10 AM. After 10:30, people started leaving.
