The Bluezone is like wireless, but line of sight to a host home. Its offered in 256K, 512K & 1 Meg. Prices are $15.99, $19.99 & $29.99 with $4 for antenna rental. There is also and $25 connection fee. If you're curious call them @ 1-800-481-7517 or visit them on the web @ www.thebluezone.com. So far its been pretty good, quicker than dial-up and cheaper than what I was paying for AOL.

Just be careful FFM anything you send or receive or a wireless signal like that is vulnerable to outsiders "listening in". Make sure anything you do online with credit cards, banks, etc. is encrypted (i.e. the page url starts with https, not just http and there is a little padlock down in the corner of the browser window.)

Not a broadcast setup like a wireless modem in a laptop. I've a hardline to a line of sight antenna to the home station. Incrypted, and backed up with software, firewall, and the hole shooting match. Am I concerned, yeah a little, I don't trust anything. ONly use secure sites, and only those I trust. I have friends who regurally pick up neighbors doing bussiness on their laptops or wireless routers in their homes, one picked up a neighbor doing home banking, downloaded his bank statement, from over 900 ft away, then delivered it to his door, he was nice about it and then schooled him on how to secure his laptop.
