cedar river - lonehunter - 08-01-2005 fished the cedar starting below the beaverton dam and going about 500 yards downriver using silver , and yellow and silver panthers , several smallies cought and a missed strike from a large northern or muskey . on the return up river , worms were bottombounced thru the deep holes with a #8 circle hook and a splitshot , this produced a 21" LMB . The water was coffee and cream in color and warm . Second stop was chapel dam , fished the spillway using leaches for gills and SMB . water was clear and cool . all gills were small and the bass were under legal limit , they kept us busy thou . I had the neoprene waders and he wore my back up pair of rubber waders . he just wanted to catch a big fish during his vacation , that deep hole in the cedar was about the best bet for such action . the yellow and crome and solid crome panthers were what i anticipated a musky would hit , it came close enough to make him thrilled he went .the LMB was the best battle he ended up with , two or three spectacular jumps on that fight .
