Carters Lake Georgia Report - Jeff - 12-03-2002 ************************ Carters LakeReport**************** 11/29/02 Te Lake is full pool and clear. the water temp is 56 degrees STRIPERS: Fair, lots of bait fish and stripers are concentrated up the Coosawatee and some of the major creeks. with the cold fronts we are getting not much surface activity is going on. most of the fish are being caught 20 to 50 ft. deep on down lined shad, shinners and trout. If we get a few days of stable weather look for the fishing to pick up fast. SPOTTED BASS: Good, look for blowdowns on the steep rocky banks in the coosawatee river and creeks on the north end of the lake. fish them with a texas rig finesse worm (green pumpkin or red bug) or a brown or black 1/4 oz jig and #11 prok frog. with the fronts we have been getting, the fish have been deep in the tops of the blowdowns 12 to 30ft and the key is to fish them really slow and keep the bait down in the limbs as long as you can. a dropshot rig in the same places has been good also.
