Beavertails - gdn443 - 06-12-2005

Got a chance to try these baits over a five day outing. They caught fish just sitting on the bottom and working them over pads. Great new bait for the box.

I've never heard of them what do they look like and what were you fishing for. Because if they catch fish Here lately i need all the help I can get.

Heard about these baits, found some from a private concern. Picture a beavers tail with 2-long legs and 2-short legs. Shorter than a brushhog, but fatter. Bass seem to like them when that bite is on. Brown worked for me just sitting in the bottom like a crawdad. Black worked pulling it across lily pads and letting it sink down threw the holes. PM me if you want a source.

gdn, buddy ole pal... I love you man! Haha.

I'd love to give them a try. Are they used primarily for bass or are other fish taking them also?

I've only caught lgmouth bass with them at this point. I can't see why they wouldn't work for smallmouth. Fish on the bottom like a crawdad. Never saw them before, so I had to give them a go. They'll stay in my tackle box.[Wink]

Haha. I'm the same way. If it's different, then most likely the fish haven't seen anything like it before. So their curiosity will get the best of them.
