well, I've been skunked on fish for a month now. I went to Saddle cove and fished a narrow cove left of all the jet skiers. I had no runs for 7 hours when my alarm woke me up. I was sleeping in hte back of my Blazer, heheheh.. [angelic]
Took me 15 seconds to get out, run to the shore, stumble on the rocks, and try and set the hook. Ended up missing it. It screamed a good 15 seconds of line off the reel as well. Stayed until 2 am then left. No sign of life after that run. But, on the bright side, my homemade boiled Maize flavored with Coconut flavor worked [
]I got skunked on a 3 more outings as well. I'm still at around 35lbs of carp for the year, on 4 fish. so thats not too shabby. I want that 35lbs on one fish, but oh well [crazy]
I may take Telbone's advice and head up to Floyd Lamb . I bought a Hobb's Creek 8-9Wt Fly rod outfit from Bass Pro Shops just for Carp. Beats driveing 60 miles round trip from my house to the mead.
