Do you mean on a float tube or a pontoon boat ?

On my pontoon I have some webbing straps that are similar to tie downs. I have the battery in an ABS battery box that went to an old camping trailer. The straps go over the box and attach to the frame of the pontoon where I added some aluminum square tube reinforcement. I do have a tendency to over-do things a little though. You could use bungie chords, an old belt and a couple of 2X4's - just as well.

The battery weighs enough on it's own to not shift or move too much while under way once it's set in place and attached. However, I wouldn't recommend having a motorized pontoon on any water that could really dislodge a 50 # marine battery that is tied down securely to the frame.

I have also seen some one use an old cooler to hold a battery - I think it may have had a little extra bracing added, but, I don't know for sure.

On my fc cougar I have my battery in a old makeup case, it has four rubber feet on the bottom and fits between the motor mount and the seat. It has never moved even if rough water.

[cool][#0000ff]Great idea HF, but I wonder what kind of looks you get from folks who recognize your ingenious battery carrier as a cosmetics case. Hope it doesn't get the wrong kind of attention from the wrong kind of folks. Ya know what I mean?[/#0000ff]
