Trolling for Crappies! - Crappies - 03-21-2005
I was watching a TV fishing show the other day and they were trolling for crappies somewhere in Texas. I thought this was an interesting way to fish for them in open water, I personally have never tried it but will this summer seeing the success they had. They caught crappie after crappie and even a few cats mixed in [laugh]. Their setup was simple, they had a couple of long rods set out with a couple of split shots and plain hooks tipped with minnows.

I read an article in one of my fishing magazines about that. I think it was Crappie World or Crappie Magazine or something like that. They mentioned using small crankbaits. I would imagine it would work with them little Daredevil spoons also.
