What is used to preseve pork rind? - DonInDenver - 03-09-2005

Does anyone know what the liquid is that is used to preserve pork rind in those little jars? Is it just a saltwater brine? Thanks!

That's if you want the pickled type. Are you planning to preserve them for eating or ????

Give me an idea so I can steer you in the right direction.

This is to replace the liquid in jars of Uncle Josh pork frogs that you fish on a jig for bass as part of a jig-n-pig.

In that case, all you need per quart of water is 2 cups of pickling or kosher salt and 1/4cup of sugar.

You can also add scent to them at this time. Simply divide the premixed mixture into smaller containers and add the different scents and/or colorants at the same time.[cool]

****No vinegar on the bait****
