LOL,,, one day below zero dosnt safe ice make....

it takes about 8 days below 20 to make 3-4 inches of ice.... I figure by this week end, but the forcasted snow may put a damper on it. insulation and weight wise.

I have another spot to fish this week end for steel head close to home here. I was tipped in by another angler I stumbled upon last week while walking the dog. not a lot of action but enough for me to grab the rod and reel and give it a shot for a couple hours.

Good to hear from ya... how ya been? I was beginning to wonder what happened to ya, havent heard from ya since salmon season.... I still have your shirt and hat. you forgot to remind me about it before you left last kids fishing derby.

I got a scoop on a couple perch spots (highly clasified by a park ranger so I cant devulge untill I have tested it out) let me know if you want in..[Wink]

also I have a tip on a new trout pond. bigger than the last. it is reported to have trout 25-30 inches. I figure to set a tip up for one while perch fishing. These places should be ready a few days before commerce. Walled lake is always ready before commerce.

I went in to town wensday around 5pm didnt go quite as far as walled lake it was getting dark and I would not have seen any thing.

I passed by penny lake and saw some brave sole shoveled out a hocky rink about 40 feet out. didnt see any wet spots.

commerce seemed to be covered over all the way across today. river & canal still open.

[Wink] On ceartain lakes around here , there driving full size trucks out on ! With -20 , it don't take to long to make good ice , the only problem is , that the breakers are already causing problems on the bigger lakes !!

I wonder if he's refering to ice breaking ships? Or maybe the giant cracks that form and create a wall. This is one to look up in our Glossary!

I thought the same thing about the ships then I wondered what great body of water you have that would be navitable. then the thought of what product do you have there other than timeber that you would nead freighters.

ya know ya could be verry well right! I seem to remember seeing an artical about northern Minn. ice anglers hauling mobile homes out on the lake for the winter ice season. They would have to use semi's

Thats a big 10-4 there good buddie [cool]
