Willard 9/24 - MGB - 09-25-2002

Fished Willard Tuesday evening on the east side in 12' of water from 5:30 -7:30. Caught one 15" wiper, good fighter I thought I had a big one at first, and one 26" walleye that weight 4.7 lbs. Caught the wiper on a cotton cordell bleeding shiner and the walleye on a rapala shad rap blue shiner trolling at 2.8 mph. Both fished were released. Has any one been catching any walleye lately?

Good question, I've been wondering the same thing myself. We have not caught any walleye since July and I have not heard of anyone catching any but the weekly fishing report from the newspaper says the walleye fishing has been fair. That is a good walleye you caught but a little under weight. We caught one last year that was 25in. and weighted 5lb7oz. I've also noticed the wipers are a little under weight this year. Good to see your post MGB. WH2
