Michigan & Lake Huron Report [/#ff0000] The word from central to northern Lake Michigan is even better then the last time I contacted you 10 days ago. Muskegon to Frankfort are all reporting good catches of adult Kings, especially for this early in the season. Look for this to improve even further during the next 6 weeks. This past week, a good run of adult Kings hit the pier heads at Manistee. The fishermen working off the piers and close in had good action on Kings averaging 22 to 18 pounds. Lake Huron's 2004 Salmon season continues to be a major dud. The Kings are small and most all under 12 pounds. Rogers City area has reported in with some good catches, but due to the weather, it's been spotty there too. I'd say, "it's about time all commercial nets on the American and Canadian sides are removed. Nets, while not the entire problem are a contributing influence and gotta go!" [#0000ff][/#0000ff] [#ff0000]That's All Folks! [/#ff0000]Lake Michigan is the reel-deal for Kings, so far this season. In fact, it's way ahead of the 2003 season, but at the cost of very few Steelhead, Coho Lake Trout and absolutely no Brown Trout. I hope we return to a more balanced fishery in the near future. Pressure on Lake Michigan has been intense, because of the lack of Salmon on the "Sunrise Side." This has led far larger crowds then normal. Calm Seas, Bent Rods, Smooth Drags and Extremely Heavy Fish Boxes, As Always.............Capt.
