Minnesota DNR Recognizes Two New Record Fish - tubeN2 - 03-18-2004

ST. PAUL, MN—The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) officially recognized two new state record fish at an awards ceremony March 6, at the Northwest SportsShow in Minneapolis. On April 26, 2003, Travis Lundquist of International Falls, Minnesota, caught a state-record 3-pound, 14-ounce golden redhorse sucker—two days after his father landed the state-record 9-pound, 1.5-ounce silver redhorse sucker. The fish were caught in the Bigfork and Rainy rivers, respectively. The father and son received a plaque and certificate acknowledging their accomplishment from DNR Commissioner Gene Merriam.
