Wind Rivers Fishing Camping Hunting - Cowboypirate - 10-24-2025 What has become an annual late Oct trip to Wyoming happened again last week.. Stayed at Fremont lake near Pinedale in the Campground. Hardly a person there - wonder why, as it was often in the 20 degree range with winds - good old Wy - love it. Stayed 6 days. Chased ruff grouse with my Dads old vintage 22 pistol. Got a few. Love cooking/eating them. Fished a few places. Best was New Fork for bows with silver bling and bait. We often find lakers coming up shallow this time of year that add some fun but none on this trip. Stream fishing was okay but nothing notable. The mountian man museum in Pinedale is worth stopping in at. Buckwheat's elk tenderloins were awesome. and we spent a few hours in a wonderful hot spring way up Granite creek. ya'all got to do that. Great way to kick the chills. Lots of Moose and deer.
