A Little Tougher At Willard - obifishkenobi - 06-28-2025 We ![]() got out yesterday after not being out for 10 days. The bite has gotten a little tougher. We saw lots of bait balls on the graph and the fish are definitely less aggressive, lots of pop and drops today. It took a long time to get on a consistent bite but we eventually found some cooperative fish. We started by the light pole around 6:30am where we picked up a couple Walleye early then a long period with several missed fish and a couple cats as we worked our way south, we finally found some fish on the chew in the south west corner and stacked them pretty good from 11-1:00pm when we finished on a triple. The count for the day was 13 walleye and 7 cats no wipers or perch. Bottom bouncers did most the damage but we got 4 on a number 5 flicker shad nothing on the number 7 size. Hate to say it, but I scraped rocks coming in to the North Marina my last time out..hopefully getting prop repaired on Monday..Y'all be careful out there at Willard.. RE: A Little Tougher At Willard - oldguy - 06-28-2025 Way to go Shawn. Did you have to slow the troll down ? Where the fish still down deep? Still going fast, I think the #5 flicker shad worked better than the #7 because it doesn’t run as deep and the fish are up a little higher in the water column chasing Shad. |
