I love, yet hate this time of year....let me explain. I love it as the panfish are on, the bass are on, the cats are on, but flyfishing is also staring to pick up in the Mts and I have a special love for tiny brookies from time spent with my dad and family under the pines and aspen.
I miss our horses and the pack trips in and our hiking trips, too. Not sure i can handle those 20 mile hikes these days ,but there is a small section of creek that I have wanted to explore for a while. So I begged cookie for a little time off - she is a tough task master when it comes to her yard and projects - and went hiking up the north slope. Oh my, are those wild flowers starting to go crazy... oh ya them brookies were there too and provided lots of tugs. If you follow my posts you already know what I tossed. I had a wuff and a renegade on and never had the need to make any other knots even though some of my patterns are starting to form protests parties for lack of attention.
On a side note, my farm labors are likey to have me out near Rawlins Wy a fair part of July... any suggestions

Heard good stories of the N Platte. Little bigger stream than the one in your vid though.
Jealous you found some wild flowers. Promised my girls I'd get some good pictures while my son and I were packing up there this weekend. Only found short spread out sparse ones. Nothing really exciting

I definitely get the love/hate. Lots of good stuff always happens in June. Unfortunately for me my job gets very busy in June. Especially the last 2 weeks. It's a bummer every year. Can't wait for the day I'll have June all to myself!!

Love the video...reminds me of growing up and spending summers in the Uintas with my family and scouts, fly fishing for brookies, cutts and grayling. Good times!
