You will love the Ulterra, I’ve had mine for a few months now and it is amazing. If you want, you can look up on YouTube on how to launch your boat by yourself with it. That helps me tremendously. Just always make sure you have a back up plan lol

Yeah - I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the Ulterra.  But I don't plan on EVER launching the boat and using the remote to deploy, hold, and bring the boat to the dock unless there is a live adult in the boat that is knowledgeable on starting and operating the boat with the drive motor.  Big Grin

Bob, I've been kicking around the idea of getting a bow mount lately and been looking at the Ulterra Quest. What shaft length are you getting? Trying to determine best for my boat.

Mine is a 60" shaft.  Next time you're out on calm water, measure from the top of the bow to the water.  Add 24" and you'll be close to what you'll want to get.  For your boat, I'm guessing you'll need a 72" shaft.  That's the longest they come with.

Bob, my apologies for the suggestion. This has worked flawlessly for me and many others, but I can understand your concern. I’m learning, it’s better to just keep my mouth shut on this board.

Hey - no problem at all.  Just gonna play it safe.  I'm too damn old to be trying to chase down a wayward boat.  ?

Thanks Bob, I was wondering if I should go with a 72", I'll be sure to run a measurement Smile

Can't wait to hear some good fishing reports as you test her out

RE: YES! - lovetofish - 04-12-2025

Congrats on the new ride. It looks like a very nice boat. I'm jealous. Smile

The Crestliner is ready to hit the lake shortly, she is going into her 26th season on Willard and still running strong.

Can’t wait for the REAL photos. Sending the “catalogue” pictures is like a photo of someone else’s wife. Kinda looks like yours but not actually the real thing. ?. Just curious, why no kicker? I’m new to boat ownership and don’t use mine much.

Not offered or recommended on the Adventure models.  I'll be using a Minn Kota 24 vdc Ulterra Quest for all my trolling needs to start.  If it appears that I need the gas motor for anything while fishing and I can't get it to go slow enough, I'll add a trolling plate on the 115 hp Merc.  They do a great job of slowing down the boat at idle.

RE: YES! - TubeDude - 04-15-2025

Lookin' good.  Hope the first meeting of the bionic angler and the AI boat is a memorable one...but only for all the good reasons.  Oh yeah, I also hope that new ride doesn't leave YOU on the ramp.
