Quail Creek Reservoir Tips - TroutFool - 03-28-2025 Heading to St George like I’m pretty sure the rest of the world for spring break and am hoping to try out Quail Creek for the first time. Don’t have a boat and was hoping for some tips for some shore fishing. Thanks in advance! RE: Quail Creek Reservoir Tips - lovetofish - 03-29-2025 You'll have better luck at Sand Hollow. If your up for a bit of a hike, take the gravel road south of the south dam to a small parking. Hike the trail north past the south dam, along the east side of the lake to the east dam. There is some decent area there to fish from shore. I have never personally shore fished at that spot but trolled the shoreline there in a boat and done pretty well for average size rainbows. I doubt you will have much company there. RE: Quail Creek Reservoir Tips - Cowboypirate - 03-31-2025 Will have to watch for you. Sounds like we might be in the same area. For trout, just throw any lures or bait from the shoreline at Quail and you'll catch some. If you're looking for bass, don't go to Quail, you'll more than likely get skunked. Head to Sand Hollow and walk the dams throwing out any type of craw imitation with 1/4oz-1/2oz weight on it and you'll catch bass pretty much guaranteed. Good luck! |
