Fish naked! - fishalot13 - 06-21-2021 Body of water doesn’t matter.  We had a great time lake fishing from pontoon boats.  Took a while to figure out how to catch the fish, after a few hours and every trick in the book. One last idea popped into my head. Phil Rowley’s “naked” technique.  20’ leader no strike indicator and very very very slow retrieval.  Then down to you favorite still water flies.  I found a skaggit head helps to turn over the 20 for leader!   We ended up with over 70 cuttbows between three of us. Very gorgeous lake! One of my favorites!  RE: Fish naked! - Riverdogs - 06-21-2021 Looks like you had a great time in a beautiful spot escaping the heat. I personally haven't used a bobber- uhm I mean strike indicator for about 15 years while fly fishing. You will only go so fast if you keep training wheels. PS you should have posted in the fly fishing section- not a lot of post there lately.
