Late Post - Strawberry 7/10/19 - cat_man - 07-17-2019 Rented a 21' pontoon for half day from the marina. My 2 youngest boys, my dad and brother were all present. We ended up catching 10 or so, with 1 being a hard fighting 17" rainbow, the rest cutts, most in the slot. We took home the rainbow and 3 cutts that were in the 13 - 14.5" range. Most were caught fishing a clear water-filled (7/8 full) bubble/bobber above 4-5 feet of leader and a worm with a single power-egg placed on the worm hook before the worm. A couple were caught on plain worm, and a slightly strange catch -- a crawdad on powerbait! [ ][laugh]A boat near us were catching them faster than us using tube jigs tipped with worm, but we weren't able to duplicate their results. ![]() Fished in Renegade area, 200 yards from shore from about 7am to about 11 or so. Pics attached. [signature] Re: [cat_man] Late Post - Strawberry 7/10/19 - catchinon - 07-18-2019 Fun, fun, fun! Better late than never. We get a lot of reports about trolling for kokes and it's nice to see a report about the trout fishing, too. If you don't mind me asking, how much does it cost to rent one of those boats for a half day? You do your own math for however many you all want to take. A lot cheaper than owning and operating your own boat year-round. How much are launch fees, plus gas, for a day of fishing at Strawberry? Probably $40 or so. But then you don't have to drive a trailer up there, spend time launching it, docking it, parking the trailer, registering boat and trailer, etc. etc. and that's after you've paid for the boat in the first place.
