LB Flotilla - Tin-Can - 05-06-2019 [#00bf00]As everyone that has posted already, the Spring Flotilla at Lincoln Beach was great. The folks that tend that park do an outstanding job. All the folks that planned, coordinated, provided, cooked, and attended this shindig made it a very enjoyed event. The weather could not have been more perfect, at least for the anglers comfort. I think maybe the cool water temp has not quite gotten the Cats as active as they will be with the temps up about 5 to 10 degrees. We had a 50% catch rate, meaning I caught 1 (finally got one for the Cat Contest), the wife caught none, at least on Saturday. She made up for that on Sunday. But that will have to be a separate post.[/#00bf00] [#00bf00] [/#00bf00] [#00bf00]I have numerous photos from the Flotilla, but will have to wait until tonight to post them. But didn't want to wait to say a BIG THANK YOU to all that made this event such a success. And my grandson will be thanking BFT for the youth life jacket the wife won in the drawing. Was perfect timing, grandson will be 4 in July and I hope to get a fishing pole in his hands this summer. [/#00bf00] [#4040ff]OK, gonna try and add the photos...........[/#4040ff] Re: [Tin-Can] LB Flotilla - SkunkedAgain - 05-06-2019 Hey Forest great to see you and your wife... I put quit a workout on my Cajun Red Lightnin' line and both my poles. I just use #2 bait hooks and I broke the hook every time and had to tie another hook on. But having those big ones on, and trying to net them by yourself is so dang much fun. And trying to keep them from tangling in the anchor line, the motor or the fish stringer. I had constant action the first one hooked up before I could even bait my second pole. It had slowed down a little when I quit at 10 to get ready for the lunch. [signature] Re: [Tin-Can] LB Flotilla - fast_randy - 05-06-2019 I boated 15 in two days, but only 6 hours of fishing. I kept 6 to have some to smoke. Never smoked cats before. Thanks for putting up with my dog. Your wife was so nice to Dakota. She is my constant companion. [signature] |
