Montpelier ice? - LT-perch - 03-10-2019 I have silently studied the posts in this board and learned a lots. Think about bringing my kids to have fun with perches.[fishon] I just wanna get an update on the ice condition at Montpelier. How thick is ice? Is edge soft and is a plank required? Any inputs are appreciated. [ ![]() [signature] Re: [LT-perch] Montpelier ice? - Hardwaterfinder - 03-10-2019 I have not been in a couple weeks but it is only 10 degrees there this morning. The ice was almost as thick as my auger last time I was there and it hasn't been warm enough in the area to deteriorate much at all. The edges should be good with the cold nights, but might want to bring a plank just in case. This reservoir is in a rather cold spot and can be ice fished later in the season than most. I have had years where I have taken my waders after the edges were gone, and waded out to fish on a foot of ice all the way into late April.
