I kept a list on here of fishable ice in the early part of the season. I can't now because the conditions are changing so quickly. I think you were looking for some ideas about where you could go. Try another post with a more specific question and you should get more specific answers. The guys who answered you usually share good info but would need to know some more, maybe where you live or specific lakes you're wondering about. I know that Strawberry is solid. You could also check the reports that have been posted recently on here. Good luck on your quest.
P.S. You will widen your options if you can take an 8' plank. The key now is to be able to span the soft edges, not just how thick the ice is out on the lake.
