ALBERTA LAKES Orloff Lake is a wilderness lake about 20 kilometres northwest of Calling Lake in Northern Boreal Zone NB2. In the winter it has good ice fishing for walleye, and one of our members wrote in to say "We had some of the best fishing ever shortly after ice off last May". Please note the lake is closed to fishing April 1 to May 15 and access is poor. BRITISH COLUMBIA LAKES Two Chilcotin lakes have been added to the Atlas in February, both excellent for rainbow trout fishing. Charlotte Lake is a large, clear lake located on the edge of the Coast Mountain Range, south of Nimpo Lake. It is known for its wild stock rainbow trout that average about two pounds, but have been reported up to ten pounds. Kappan Lake is located on the eastern fringe of the spectacular coastal mountain range. It is a popular lake for rainbow trout fishing, and regularly produces trout in the two pound range. Some anglers report trout more than 5 pounds. ONTARIO LAKES Opinicon Lake is part of the Rideau canal system connecting Ottawa with the St. Lawrence Seaway and produces good northern pike and bass fishing. It is about 25 km north-east of Kingston and can be reached via Highway 15 north to the Village of Elgin. [signature] Re: [lonehunter] Ice Fishing Report - tubeN2 - 02-20-2004 that sounds like one that I used to have. Only thing was that it was my flash light that fell out of my hands beacause of that slippery sardine oil. The clicking noise was just me cussing. I bent down to pick up one of my tipups, and one of my ice cleats fell off my boot and into the hole! It couldn't be a cheap one that does it. Nooo, it was one of the Cabela's ones that cost me $21 for the pair. I made clicking noises all the way back to my truck...hahaha.
