Well got to love the shape of them islands, make it like the arch. I had some big pie in the sky dreams as a kid too. Then reality set in and well economics too and they didn't happen. Anyone think this will happen? Maybe in Saudi where they gots tons of oil money and no EPA or environmental controls, but it won't happen here. If so I want a beach front next to the Abyss. Later J

Two words come to mind first and they are earthquakes and liguidfication. Piling sand on silt to build tall building on seems like scam.

Building artificial islands in Utah Lake and turning them into our own little Dubai.
Oh, the arrogance of man. Kind of like building a dike to hold back the ocean. Not a wise move.
We cannot pretend to be able to harness Nature. She'll find a way to take back control (Katrina much?)
I don't see this happening, but if so, I'll probably get to see it fail.
