McClatchy Derby Magic Reservoir June 24 - Lunddude - 06-05-2017 Mark your calendars everybody for June 24 to attend the 7th Annual John McClatchy "Big Fish" Memorial Fishing Derby at Magic Reservoir. Guaranteed $1000 First Place prize money to who ever weighs in the largest fish! Last year we paid out cash prizes to the top 7 anglers. With a good turnout this could possibly be repeated again this year. Come on out for a day of fun and a great cause, Camp Rainbow Gold! Last years Derby stats for anyone thinking of fishing the Derby this year on June 24 Let's see if we can keep this ball rolling folks and set another all time high Derby record for a Great Cause! Well, the 2016 John "Big Fish" McClatchy 6th Annual Fishing Derby is officially in the record books. With beautiful weather and Magic Reservoir at full pool 83 ...Adult anglers and 10 Junior anglers came out to test their skills at landing the "Big Fish" of the day. This year we broke a record with the "Biggest Fish" ever in this tournaments history being brought to the scales by local angler Lyman Bridge of Bellevue. With a record turnout and generous donations from local participants we were able to payout $2100 in total prize money this year to the successful anglers. With donations still coming in for Camp Rainbow Gold we are currently at $4000 and counting. Once again, another record set thanks to the awesome folks who participate in this Derby each year for such a great cause. ADULT DIVISION WINNERS 1st Place "Big Fish" $1000 4lbs. 2.2oz.
